Mixed-Methods User Researcher @ Meta (Contracted through Magnit)

As a research professional, I drove business growth and developer engagement through mixed-methods research studies and strategic partnerships in the AR/VR and AI spaces. I led research initiatives with game and AR/VR developers, leveraging quantitative and qualitative methods to inform new feature development and tool adoption. Collaborating across teams, I identified and prioritized API and tool enhancements, while also supporting senior researchers with diverse methodologies. Additionally, I conducted in-depth literature reviews on cutting-edge AR/VR and AI topics, providing foundational knowledge for research initiatives and enhancing team onboarding processes. My expertise bridged research design, stakeholder collaboration, data analysis, and emerging technology trends.

Invited Speaker: Communication Gaps between Game Researchers

Spoke alongside a panel of leading industry and academic researchers studying video games. My talk focused on the difficulties of research in both Academia and industry, and how many barriers lead to the lack of collaboration and transparent communication between the two groups. Proposed possible changes in both systems, but highlighted the key problem that technological advancement is progressing faster than our laws and understanding of its influences in society.

Fighting Misinformation Online

Misinformation is rampant online, especially in the age of “fake news”, deep fakes, recommendation systems, and COVID-19. One medium in which misinformation spread is through online videos and ads. What exactly in those videos makes people fall for misinformation easily? That is the question we are figuring out in my lab.

I am leading and guiding six undergraduate students through the process of creating an experiment from beginning until the end. I lead team meetings, conducted a full literature review for our topic, and implemented system of verifying our methodologies. We will be conducting an experiment online once our pilot testing are completed and will be attempting to publish this paper into CHI 2021. I plan to evolve this project into a masters thesis project of a website that can teach people tech literacy in a fun and interactive way.

Honors Thesis at UC San Diego: The effect of time pressure on conformity.

Senior Thesis done for the Honors program where I worked on developing and deploying a valid psychological experiment. I studied how higher degrees of time pressures influenced people’s ability to conform toe majority or not. The complete conception of the thesis was done by me with a faculty advisor. I conducted the entire literature review, created my own methodology for measuring conformity, lead pilot testing, and analyzed all the data. Received the outstanding student award from the department for my work and spirit in the honors program, as well as my contributions as a instructional assistant in teaching the advanced statistics course series
